Hi Gary:
Off the top of my head, I can think of at least three examples where I've had great success addressing Neuropathy with EFT.
1. During a demonstration about 4 years ago at an HIV outreach center, my "assistant" (a friend of mine who took my EFT training and is a GREAT marketing assistant but never wanted to "tap" on anyone) got frustrated when a man in his late 70's was tapping on points everywhere but the "EFT" points. So she tapped with him, addressing the neuropathy in his feet.
He had the numbness and tingling pain for years as a reaction to the HIV medication he was taking. It was so bad that he could not sleep at night. To his delight, the neuropathy completely disappeared within a few minutes! He used EFT every night BEFORE he went to bed just to make sure the symptoms would not flare up again...and was sooo appreciative of EFT that he shared it with many of his friends, and even the Doctors who were treating his condition.
2. I demonstrated EFT to a group of 20 dentists a few years ago. This was a challenge since they were very "medically" inclined and I have no medical background. All I knew was that tapping on people made them feel better. These dentists were interested in a method of pain control, so that was the focus of my presentation.
Before addressing EFT for Neuropathy for the group, I used EFT to eliminate a younger man's pain in his shoulder from a rotator cuff injury. When we addressed the symptoms, there was no change in the pain. However, he knew the medical terminology for his condition. Once we inserted the name of the muscles that were injured into the Setup Statement and Reminder Phrase, the pain immediately disappeared. And he recovered full range of motion with his shoulder and arm.
GC COMMENT: This is a very useful approach when you don't seem to be making progress with EFT. Often times being very specific will bring relief. In this case, addressing the specific muscles involved instead of the more general category of "Neuropathy" or "numbness" did the job.
GWENN CONTINUES: Then I was led to the "leader" of the group --- a gentleman in his 50's or 60's who had neuropathy (in his feet) for over 10 years. After a few rounds of EFT, the neuropathy was gone! He couldn't believe it ... took his sandals off, walked around, the whole bit. I think the group thought the neuropathy was more of a challenge than the rotator cuff injury, and were impressed because they knew this guy would not say his condition improved unless it actually did. So... big success ... and that one sticks in my mind.
3. Last night, during the first night of my 4-week EFT training, I demonstrated EFT on a woman who had numbness in her toes for the past 14 years. On a 0-10 numbness scale. the numbness went from 9 to 6 after one round of the EFT Basic Recipe, then to 2 after the second round. Then we got into emotional stuff. Interestingly enough, she stated that she couldn't get in touch with her emotions when we first started .... but now she could. After addressing the emotional issues, the numbness in her toes completely disappeared.
GC COMMENT: We find that buried emotions often appear after a few rounds of EFT tapping. Then, upon tapping for the emotional issues, the remaining physical issues subsides. This is evidence, of course, of the link between our emotions and our physical ailments.
GWENN CONTINUES: I've also had success dealing with numbness in the hands...just can't think of the specifics right now. I've worked with many HIV+ clients, having volunteered at an HIV+ outreach center for three years. The side effect of many of the meds is neuropathy. It makes lots of sense to me that once you get the energy flowing again the feeling returns...
Generally, I address the physical symptoms first, getting REALLY specific. Then if the emotions come up, I address them separately. And of course, I teach everyone EFT. So if the symptoms return, they have an empowering tool to combat neuropathy.
Hope this helps...and gives hope to everyone with neuropathy!
Love & light,
Gwenn Bonnell

Important note: While EFT has produced remarkable clinical results, it must still be considered to be in the experimental stage and thus practitioners and the public must take complete responsibility for their use of it. Further, Gary Craig is not a licensed health professional and offers EFT as an ordained minister and as a personal performance coach. Those who want to discuss the use of EFT for a specific emotional or physical problem with a professional in the health field are referred to our Referral section, where a number of licensed and unlicensed practitioners who use EFT in their practices are listed. Where appropriate, qualified physicians should be consulted.
